What Happens If You Enrol Without Meeting PMDC's Requirements?

PM&DC has also issued a student alert in this regard, stating that student registration in foreign countries is compulsory and that compliance with eligibility for provisional registration and with the NRE is linked to this registration.

Condition: PM&DC's foreign-admission policy requires that students fulfill the academic criteria, MDCAT requirement, Student Registration Certificate, requirements of foreign institutions and other program requirements.

Provisional Registration and House Job

According to the Registration Regulations 2023 of PMDC, an eligible individual with an undergraduate medical or dental degree from a foreign country may be considered for provisional registration upon verification by the granting institute, and PMDC has also made it mandatory for foreign Pakistani graduates to apply for provisional registration.

The exact sequence of house jobs is determined by the foreign-graduate pathway. It is seen in PMDC's published pathways that some graduates need to undertake a house job in a recognised foreign house, and others have a requirement for a house job in Pakistan.

National Registration Examination (NRE)

The current term for the PMDC is National Registration Examination (NRE). The term "NLE" is still in use among many prospective students, and in the older licensing material, PMDC used the term "NLE," but for the current term, I'm using the term "NRE.

According to PMDC's NRE syllabus, there are two parts:

• A theory component

• An examination called a Clinical Skills Examination (CSE)

According to the published syllabus, the candidates have to pass both components separately.

What Has PMDC Changed Recently?

With a planned 2026 activity, freshness is especially critical for PMDC. Multiple updates are being made in foreign education, student enrollment, MDCAT and NRE processes are available in its public announcements.

Until the end of 2026, the online registration process for NRE will remain unchanged at the NRE online registration portal (20-21 August 2026).

The one thing people should learn from the practical application of this: If they are applying for a new admission using a 2022, 2023, 2024 or even early-2026 checklist, they are not the final word.
